SMC's Real Estate Google Ads Intro Class: How It Went

Here’s a sneak peek at one of our recent Google Ads introductory class. Read on to find out what the attendees learnt and why you should join in too!

As such, we took the initiative to organize Google Ads introductory and masterclasses to share our knowledge in the real estate field.

1. Our first ERA intro class and its response

On 6th of September, we organized our very first digital marketing class for more than 20 realtors at ERA APAC Centre, Toa Payoh. Titled “Close 1 in 7 leads”, realtors were guided on how to excel at new launches with Google Ads.

Organized and taught by SMC’s Co-Founder, Karthik Rames, the class focused on ways to leverage the power of Google Ads to generate more property leads online. 

In a short 2-hours lesson, we condensed the key learning points of Google Ads into 3 core topics - macro strategies, micro strategies, and lastly, fine-tuning strategies.

Many realtors were not only attentively listening in, but also taking down notes, and participating actively in the class. It was a heartening sight – knowing that they were eager to learn and willing to invest their time to pick up a new skill.

2. Why Should You Attend

First off, Google Ads is not meant to replace your current forms of traditional marketing. It is meant to supplement your existing marketing efforts, whether you’re giving out flyers, organizing roadshows, or planning door-to-door visits.

You can attend a session and decide whether it works for you. At the very least, you’ll walk away with a better idea of what Google Ads is, and what your competitors are already actively doing.

Beginners start off with a short 2-hour introductory class covering the basic concepts of running Google Ads. 3. What we covered during the introductory class

With every class, our objective is to make sure realtors walk away with an overview of how Google Ads work, from beginning to end.

That's why we covered 3 core topics – the macro, micro, and several fine-tuning strategies that can be done for your Google Ads campaigns to maximize chances of success.

Macro strategies include;

  • Project Selection. How do I select which new launch condo to work on?
  • Supply vs demand. How does market supply and demand of new launch condos affect my campaigns?
  • Spending curve. When is it optimal to start my campaign? How much difference does it make to start early or late?

Micro strategies include;

  • Campaign split. How many campaigns and ad groups should I run?
  • Keywords strategy. How do I come up with the right keywords?
  • Ad extensions. What are ad extensions and which ones should I be using?

Fine tuning strategies include;

  • Landing page. What are the most important elements of a landing page? How does Google rank my landing page based on its structure/layout?
  • Bid strategies. What bidding strategy should I be using?
  • Ad scheduling. What is the best time to schedule my ads?
