Interested in learning how to build a landing page for your new launch condo campaign?

We're ranking the easiest to the most difficult ways you can do this.

1. Google Sites
2. Wix/Weebly
3. Webflow
4. Wordpress
5. Code from scratch

1. Google Sites

To be honest, we’ve never heard of Google Sites ourselves until one of our real estate agents brought it up. So, we decided to do a bit of research to find out what it is and how it works - so you don’t have to!

Difficulty level: 1/5

Overall aesthetics: 2/5

Online tutorials: 5/5

Pros:

  • It’s pretty much like creating your own presentation slides - you can drag and drop components anywhere. It’s not hard to use and you can easily give access to others to manage your site.
  • You can create your own themes with pre-set or custom colours. Google Sites also offers many page layouts and ready-made components to choose from. It makes building sites a fast and easy job.
  • Easily include Google productivity apps like Google Docs, Google slides, Google charts into your website with a drag of a mouse.
  • The best part about it? No coding skills necessary - all you need to do is to pay for your domain name at $7/year (hosting is free!).

Cons:

  • Google doesn’t offer as many features as you might like. The templates are not very pretty to look at and there is a minimal selection of themes to choose from.
  • Although Google has moved on from their ‘classic’ site to the new Google Sites, there’s still a huge limitation on how much you can customize your site.
  • Other than the font, navigation, layout, images and theme colour, you'll have to embed your own custom code for any further customization – which minimally requires HTML and CSS coding knowledge.

Would we recommend it?

If you’re looking for a basic enough landing page, then Google Sites will serve you well. For those particular about the aesthetics of their landing page, Google Sites’ templates generally look less refined than others, so we wouldn’t recommend it.

2. Wix/Weebly

At first glance, both Wix and Weebly may seem complex with all their new functionalities, but its onboarding steps gets you started real quick.

The reason we’ve grouped these two platforms together is because they more or less work the same – with an affordable pricing from SGD$8 to $35 per month.

Difficulty level: 1/5

Overall aesthetics: 3/5

Online tutorials: 5/5

Pros:

  • Their templates are generally trendy and mobile responsive.
  • Like Google sites, it has a drag-and-drop interface that helps you quickly create attractive websites, even if you have no design or coding experience. All you need to do is to plugin the template of your liking, edit your content and images and presto - you’re ready to go!
  • You can use Wix's app market and Weebly's app centre to enhance your site with more advanced components, tools, or plugins for added functionality.

Cons:

  • Although both platforms offer tons of features, the only website builder with Google Analytics intergration is Weebly. This feature is a must-have to track your website’s traffic and conversions.
  • Like any website builder with a drag-and-drop interface, there are customization limits which would require quite a bit of coding knowledge to overcome.

Would we recommend it?

Both website builders have attractive templates, but the customization options aren't great. However, they work well for beginners, so if you're just looking for a decent design for your property landing page with no-frills, you can opt for this.

3. Webflow

Think of Webflow as the upgraded version of Wix and Weebly. It’s a flexible no-code website builder, with powerful yet easy-to-use features.

We practically fell in love the moment our eyes landed on it. But it definitely comes with a hefty price tag too

Difficulty level: 3/5

Overall aesthetics: 4/5

Online tutorials: 5/5

Pros:

  • Webflow has a remarkably intuitive drag-and-drop interface, its basic interaction can be learned quickly by non-technical people. So, even if you’re a beginner, Webflow offers you the opportunity to create more advanced designs.
  • The best part about Webflow is it gives you ample room for creative freedom with control over all aspects of your site design - whether it’s the margins, paddings, colours, or the design of any component.
  • Their template designs are one of the best we’ve seen. If you’re going for premium templates, their designs and visuals are simply stunning.

Cons:

  • Good things don’t come cheap - unless you don’t mind using Webflow’s free templates which, in fact, has a better design than most sites out there.
  • The learning curve might be considered as steep for some, and advanced functionality may be a challenge even for experienced users. Therefore, we’ll advise you to stick to manageable designs (no complex functionalities and fancy animations) or you’ll  be in for a headache.

Would we recommend it?

We personally love this platform the most since you don’t have to worry about conceptualizing and implementing the design of your landing page. This way, you get to save cost on hiring a web developer expert and UI/UX designer.

Final verdict? Highly recommended - 10/10.

4. Wordpress

There are lots of website builders out there, but Wordpress is by far the most popular, occupying 43% of the market share. This is because it gives you the freedom of choice on whether you’d like to hire a developer to help you, code from scratch, or build one with plugins.

Difficulty level: 4/5

Overall aesthetics: 3/5

Online tutorials: 3/5

Pros:

  • It’s a relatively less expensive option and there’s about 100+ premium templates available to choose from, which are reasonably priced.

Cons:

  • Wordpress is not equipped with a built-in drag and drop website builder. This means you’ll need to add in your own plugins.
  • If you’re looking for a simple landing page, Wordpress might not be for you due to its complexity.
  • Unless you engage a web developer to help build your property landing page, your design could very well appear messy and unprofessional.

Would we recommend it?

Wordpress interface is not as intuitive as we’d like it to be. If you plan on trying your hand at it, you would probably have to go through quite a few tutorials to understand how the platform works. If you're a beginner, we wouldn’t recommend this option at all.

5. Code from scratch

Difficulty level: 5/5

Overall aesthetics: (Depends on your skill level)

Online tutorials: 3/5

Pros:

  • You have control over every single element on the page.
  • You can even reuse your templates over and over by making minor tweaks to the design and layout for each new condo launch project.

Cons:

  • You will have to learn a lot of new skills - including how to design, code, fix bugs, write a persuasive copy, and deploy your project on a cloud server.
  • It’s not easy to design an attractive site from scratch, unless you naturally have a good eye for design.
  • It may take up too much of your time.

Would we recommend it?

If you have the diligence and patience to learn how to code, yes. If you prefer to focus on getting leads and closing sales - then no.
